Mr Adam Hustler MBBS FRCOphth
Mr Adam Hustler is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Musgrove Park Hospital, with specialist expertise in glaucoma and cataract surgery. He provides comprehensive, evidence-based care for patients with a wide range of eye conditions, with a particular focus on advanced glaucoma management and complex cataract surgery.
Mr Hustler qualified in medicine in 2000 from St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London School of Medicine, University of London. He completed his specialist ophthalmic training in London and Wessex in 2013 and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth).
Following specialist training, he undertook a glaucoma fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, gaining extensive experience in the assessment and management of complex glaucoma. In 2014, he was appointed Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Kingston Hospital, Surrey, where he subsequently became Clinical Lead for glaucoma services. He joined Musgrove Park Hospital in 2020.
Mr Hustler is an experienced cataract surgeon who has performed thousands of cataract procedures, including complex cataract surgery, toric and extended depth of focus lens implants. He also performs YAG laser capsulotomy.
As a glaucoma specialist, Mr Hustler provides personalised care across the full spectrum of glaucoma management. His expertise includes both medical and surgical treatments, including trabeculectomy with antimetabolites, glaucoma drainage devices, laser iridotomy and selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT).
His approach combines specialist expertise with a patient-centred focus, helping patients understand their condition and treatment options while providing high-quality, individualised ophthalmic care.
Mrs Justyna D. Hustler MD FEBO
Mrs Justyna Hustler is a highly experienced general ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in cataract surgery.
She is a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology and a substantive NHS Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Musgrove Park Hospital. Within her NHS role she is also a Cataract Service Lead and Somerset Diabetic Eye Screening Lead.
Mrs Hustler undertook the majority of her ophthalmic training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. She subsequently completed a research fellowship in glaucoma in Switzerland, followed by a two-year sub-specialist surgical fellowship in cataract surgery at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire.
With extensive experience in general ophthalmology and cataract surgery, Mrs Hustler offers a comprehensive range of cataract procedures. Her expertise includes the use of toric intraocular lenses for astigmatism correction and extended depth-of-focus (EDOF) lens implants. She also performs laser procedures, including YAG laser capsulotomy.
Mrs Hustler is committed to providing high-quality, personalised ophthalmic care. She places particular emphasis on understanding each patient’s individual needs and achieving excellent visual outcomes following cataract surgery.

YAG capsulotomy
We perform YAG laser treatments for posterior capsule opacification (PCO). This is a safe, effective and pain-free procedure.

Mr Adam Hustler is an expert in glaucoma care. He provides medical, laser and surgical glaucoma treatments to address the individual needs of each patient. From diagnosis, treatment planning and ongoing care, he will explain and guide you through living with glaucoma.
Glaucoma Laser Treatments
Mr Adam Hustler specialises in glaucoma care including laser procedures. He is proficient in both Peripheral Iridotomy (PI) for patients with narrow/closed drainage angles, as well as SLT (selective laser trabeculoplasty) for eye drop free control of the intraocular pressure.
